Yes, absolutely! While Ultrakote is formulated to meet the high standards of commercial and industrial contractors, it is designed to be DIY-friendly as well. To make application even easier for homeowners, we bundle these products into all-in-one 40sqm, 50sqm and 80sqm Epoxy Flooring Packages (available in solid colour, anti-slip, and flake finishes). These kits take the guesswork out of ordering and mixing ratios.

Standard primers (like Ultra Primer) are excellent for dry, porous concrete. However, if your concrete slab suffers from rising damp, efflorescence, or has high moisture levels, you must use Ultrakote Ultrabarrier. It is a specialized 100% solids epoxy moisture barrier designed to block hydrostatic pressure, preventing your new floor coating from blistering or peeling off the damp concrete.

Ultrakote provides two premium, UV-stable topcoat options to seal your floor and prevent it from yellowing or scratching:

• Ultrakote UV Seal: A highly durable, two-pack polyurethane clear coat. It is easy to apply and provides excellent long-term gloss retention, making it a favorite for DIYers.
• Ultrakote PureGuard: A premium, 100% solids clear polyaspartic coating. It offers maximum chemical resistance and cures incredibly fast, making it ideal for high-end residential and commercial jobs requiring a rapid return to service.

Yes. We stock dedicated Ultrakote non-slip additives to ensure your floor is safe and compliant. You can use Ultrakote Floating Anti-Slip Media (a lightweight additive that won't sink to the bottom of the bucket, perfect for easy rolling) or heavy-duty Aluminium Oxide for industrial, high-traction environments (P4/P3/P5 slip ratings).

Building your own professional-grade Ultrakote floor is a straightforward process when you follow the correct multi-layer application method. Here is exactly how to build your system from the concrete up, including standard coverage rates to help you order the correct amount:

• Step 1: Primer (Choose one based on your concrete)

Ultrakote Ultra Primer: The standard choice for dry, porous concrete. It penetrates deeply to ensure maximum adhesion.Coverage: Approximately 5 to 7 sqm per litre (e.g., a 12L kit covers roughly 60–80 sqm).

Ultrakote Ultrabarrier: A specialized moisture barrier primer required if your slab suffers from rising damp or high moisture.Coverage: Approximately 4 to 5 sqm per litre (e.g., a 10L kit covers roughly 40–50 sqm).

• Step 2: BasecoatUltrakote Ultrashield Premium Epoxy: A heavy-duty, 100% solids epoxy resin used as your main colour layer. For a solid colour floor, two coats are highly recommended. Coverage: Approximately 5 to 6 sqm per litre, per coat (e.g., a 16L kit covers up to 80 sqm for a single coat, or 40 sqm for two coats).

• Step 3: Decorative Flake or Anti-Slip Media (Optional)If you are building a flake or non-slip floor, you will broadcast these into the wet Ultrashield basecoat.

• Step 4: UV-Stable Topcoat (Choose one)

Ultrakote UV Seal (Polyurethane): A highly durable, two-pack solvent-based clear coat that provides a scratch-resistant, UV-stable finish (great for DIY).Coverage: Approximately 7 to 10 sqm per litre.
