Ultrashield 100% Solids Three Coat Epoxy Floor Kit – 60m²

The Ultrashield 3-Coat Epoxy Floor Kit is a complete 60m² epoxy flooring system designed for garages, workshops, warehouses, commercial areas and other surfaces requiring a durable, seamless and easy-to-clean finish.

This system combines 1 × 12L Ultra Primer with 24L of Ultrashield 100% Solids Epoxy to provide three coats in total: one epoxy primer coat followed by two solid colour epoxy coats.

The included Ultra Primer is particularly beneficial on porous and absorbent concrete. Its low-viscosity formulation promotes deep penetration into the substrate and strong mechanical bonding, helping create a solid foundation for the two Ultrashield coats.

The two Ultrashield coats then build the finished protective surface, providing excellent wear and abrasion resistance, good chemical resistance and a seamless, easy-to-maintain finish.

What’s Included

  • 1 × 12L Ultra Primer – 100% solids epoxy primer for concrete and masonry
  • 3 × 8L Ultrashield Epoxy – 100% solids solid colour epoxy

Please note that, depending on stock availability, we may supply a combination of pack sizes, such as 16L and 8L. The total quantity supplied will always be 24L of epoxy, sufficient to cover approximately 60m².

Total system: 12L Ultra Primer + 24L Ultrashield = 3 coats for up to 60m².

Why Choose the 3-Coat System?

Adding a dedicated epoxy primer beneath two Ultrashield coats provides a more complete coating system than applying the finish coats directly to the concrete.

  • Better substrate penetration – Ultra Primer's low viscosity helps penetrate porous concrete
  • Strong mechanical bonding – creates an excellent foundation for subsequent epoxy coats
  • Additional coating build – two Ultrashield coats provide a more substantial finished system
  • Excellent wear and abrasion resistance – designed for long-term floor protection
  • Good chemical resistance – suitable for many common chemical spill and splash situations
  • Water and oil resistance – helps protect the concrete from common liquids and contaminants
  • Seamless finish – easy to clean and maintain
  • Wide range of colours – create a professional solid colour epoxy floor

Ideal Applications

Ultrashield Epoxy is suitable for a wide range of residential, commercial and industrial applications, including:

  • Garages and sheds
  • Automotive workshops
  • Warehouses and storage areas
  • Commercial workshops
  • Factories and industrial environments
  • Showrooms and offices
  • Multi-level car parks
  • Commercial and food processing areas
  • Pharmaceutical and cosmetic facilities
  • Other areas requiring a durable, seamless epoxy floor

Ultra Primer – The First Coat

Ultra Primer is a 100% solids, two-pack epoxy primer specifically designed for concrete and masonry substrates.

Its low-viscosity formulation provides excellent substrate penetration and strong mechanical bonding, making it especially useful on porous or absorbent concrete.

  • Mix ratio: 2:1 by volume (Part A : Part B)
  • Typical coverage: 5–7m²/L
  • Pot life: approximately 30–45 minutes at 25°C
  • Recoat window: approximately 6–24 hours at 25°C
  • Full cure: approximately 7 days at 25°C

Ultrashield Epoxy – Two Finish Coats

Ultrashield is a 100% solids epoxy floor coating designed to provide seamless and durable floor protection with excellent surface hardness, adhesion, wear resistance and resistance to water, oil and many common chemicals.

  • Mix ratio: 3:1 by volume (Part A : Part B)
  • Typical coverage: approximately 5m²/L per coat on dense surfaces
  • Porous or non-skid surfaces: approximately 4m²/L per coat
  • Pot life: approximately 30 minutes at 20°C
  • Overcoat window: 12–48 hours
  • Full chemical and mechanical resistance: approximately 7 days at 23°C
  • Maximum service temperature: 60°C

Actual coverage depends on the condition and porosity of the concrete, surface profile, application method, coating thickness and material wastage. The kit is intended for up to 60m² when applied at the appropriate coverage rates.

Application System

1. Prepare the Concrete

Proper surface preparation is critical to the performance and longevity of any epoxy floor.

  • Diamond grind or mechanically prepare the concrete
  • Remove laitance, dust, oil, grease, curing compounds and other contaminants
  • Remove loose material and existing coatings that may affect adhesion
  • Repair significant cracks, spalls and surface defects before coating

2. Apply Ultra Primer

Apply the included Ultra Primer as the first coat on suitable dry concrete. The primer penetrates the prepared substrate and provides a strong bonding layer for the Ultrashield coats.

3. Apply First Ultrashield Coat

Apply the first Ultrashield coat evenly using a suitable roller, brush or squeegee. Maintain an even application rate and back-roll to achieve a consistent finish.

4. Apply Final Ultrashield Coat

Once the first Ultrashield coat is ready for recoating, apply the second Ultrashield coat to complete the three-coat system.

Moisture & Rising Damp

Important: Ultra Primer is intended for suitable dry concrete substrates. If the floor has rising damp, hydrostatic pressure or significant moisture issues, a dedicated moisture barrier should be used instead of Ultra Primer.

UltraBarrier is a 100% solids epoxy moisture and hydrostatic-pressure barrier designed for application over wet and damp concrete. It can be used as the moisture barrier layer before the subsequent epoxy flooring system.

UltraBarrier is not included in this kit. If required, purchase it separately and follow the UltraBarrier technical data sheet. A minimum of two coats is recommended.

Slip Resistance

Anti-slip media is not included with this kit.

If additional slip resistance is required, Aluminium Oxide can be purchased separately and incorporated into the appropriate epoxy coat. The correct grade should be selected according to the required slip resistance and project requirements.

Pro Tip – Mix Epoxy in Small Batches

Do not mix the entire Part A and Part B at once.

Part A should be mixed first and then poured into a suitable measuring bucket. Add the appropriate amount of Part B to Part A and mix using the paddle attached to a suitable cordless or corded drill.

Mix in small batches and only prepare enough material for the coat you are currently applying. This gives you more working time before the epoxy begins to cure and makes the material easier to manage during application.

Ultrashield has an approximate pot life of 30 minutes at 20°C. Actual working time varies depending on temperature, mixed quantity and site conditions.

Important Information

  • Coverage: designed for up to 60m²
  • System: 1 × Ultra Primer coat + 2 × Ultrashield epoxy coats
  • Primer: particularly beneficial for porous and absorbent concrete
  • Moisture: use UltraBarrier instead of Ultra Primer where rising damp or hydrostatic moisture is present
  • Anti-slip media: not included; Aluminium Oxide can be purchased separately
  • Full cure: approximately 7 days at 23°C
  • UV exposure: Ultrashield may change in appearance when exposed to UV light. Not recommended as an exterior topcoat. An additional coat of clear Polyurethane or Polyapartic coating is required for external areas.

Additional preparation or repair products may be required depending on the condition of your concrete and the requirements of your project.

Why Choose Ultrashield?

The Ultrashield 60m² 3-Coat Epoxy Floor Kit combines a deep-penetrating 100% solids epoxy primer with two coats of high-performance Ultrashield epoxy.

It is a practical choice for customers who want strong substrate adhesion, additional coating build and a durable solid colour epoxy finish for garages, workshops, warehouses and commercial environments.
