Deckshield UV Polyurethane Sealer is a two-component, high gloss, UV stable, abrasion-resistant aliphatic polyurethane sealer designed to enhance and protect Flowcrete flooring systems.

Available in both clear and coloured finishes, Deckshield UV provides a durable protective surface layer for resin flooring applications where a high-performance finish is required.

The clear finish is designed to enhance existing flooring systems while maintaining the appearance of the underlying surface. The coloured finish provides a decorative protective coating option and is available in Flowcrete colour selections including White, N44, N35, and other specified colours.

Supplied by Epoxy Warehouse Australia, Deckshield UV is suitable for use as a high wear-resistant UV stable sealer to further enhance the performance of Flowcrete resin flooring systems.

The roller-applied polyurethane coating provides excellent finishing properties and is designed for applications requiring a hard-wearing, durable, abrasion-resistant, and chemical-resistant surface.

Surface Preparation

  • Concrete or screed substrate must have minimum strength of 25 N/mm²
  • Surface must be free from laitance, dust, and contamination
  • Substrate should be dry to 75% RH according to ASTM F2170 (AS1884:2012)
  • Slab-on-ground concrete must have an effective damp proof membrane
  • Surface must be free from rising damp

Mixing Instructions

  1. Pre-mix Base A to redistribute any settlement.
  2. Add all Hardener B into Base A.
  3. Mix using a slow-speed drill with helical spinner head for 90 seconds.
  4. Avoid entraining air during mixing.
  5. Use complete pre-weighed packs for optimum performance.
  6. If proportioning packs, use accurate digital scales.

Do not add solvents such as Xylene, MEK, or Acetone to Deckshield UV.

Application Instructions

  • Refer to the appropriate Deckshield UV Technical Data Sheet for the selected specification.
  • Apply using suitable roller application methods.
  • Decant mixed material into smaller quantities when applying detailed areas.

Application Conditions

  • Recommended material and substrate temperature: 15°C–35°C
  • Minimum application temperature: 10°C
  • Substrate temperature must remain 3°C above dew point
  • Temperature should not fall below 5°C within 24 hours after application

Working Time / Pot Life

  • Mixed product should be used within 20 minutes at 20°C
  • Higher temperatures or leaving material in the bucket will reduce working time

Curing Times (at 20°C)

  • Minimum overcoating time: 8 hours
  • Maximum overcoating time: 24 hours
  • Foot traffic: 24 hours
  • Vehicular traffic: 72 hours
  • Full chemical cure: 7 days

Full chemical resistance is achieved after approximately 5–7 days.

Cleaning

Tools and equipment can be cleaned with:

  • MEK
  • Acetone
  • Xylene

Refer to SDS before using solvents.

Storage

  • Shelf life: 12 months in unopened packs
  • Storage temperature: 5°C–35°C
  • Store indoors and protect from:

    - Frost
    - Weather
    - Moisture
    - Direct sunlight
    - Contamination ingress

Important Product Notes

  • Do not cover or wash within the first 36 hours of curing.
  • Applied colours may differ from examples shown.
  • Applicators should verify colour accuracy before application.
  • Light and vibrant colours may require additional coats.
  • The system should have no contact with water for 5 days at 20°C.
  • Install at least 3°C above dew point.
  • Low temperature/high humidity conditions may cause blooming.
  • Do not apply to substrates exceeding 35°C.
