Sikalastic-100 EP Primer — The Professional's Choice for Membrane Adhesion

When your waterproofing membrane is only as good as what it bonds to, you need a primer that performs. Sikalastic®-100 EP Primer is a two-component, 100% solids, solvent-free epoxy primer engineered specifically for use with Sikalastic® liquid-applied membrane systems. Its ultra-low viscosity drives deep into concrete and screed substrates, creating a tenacious bond that holds up in the most demanding environments — from commercial rooftops to industrial floors and water-retaining structures.

Available exclusively through Epoxy Warehouse, your authorised Sika distributor in Australia, this product is backed by Sika's global expertise.

Why Choose Sikalastic®-100 EP Primer?

  • 100% Solids / Solvent-Free: No harmful solvents, very low VOC — safer for applicators and the environment.
  • Deep Substrate Penetration: Low viscosity formula seeps into the pores of concrete and screeds for maximum mechanical adhesion.
  • Fast Cure: Overcoat in as little as 8 hours at 20°C, keeping your project on schedule.
  • AS4020:2018 Approved: Certified for use in contact with potable drinking water — suitable for water tanks, reservoirs, and wet areas.
  • Versatile: Works as a primer and a patching compound/mortar when blended with silica sand.
  • Acceleratable: Can be used with Sikafloor® Booster to speed up cure in cold conditions.

Suitable Substrates

  • Concrete substrates
  • Cement screeds
  • Epoxy screeds

Mixing & Application

Mix Part A and Part B at a 2:1 ratio by volume and mass for a minimum of 2 minutes until fully homogeneous. Apply by roller or brush. Clean all tools immediately after use with Thinner C. Hardened material can only be removed mechanically.

Important Application Conditions

  • Do not apply on substrates with rising moisture.
  • Protect freshly applied primer from damp, condensation, and water for at least 24 hours.
  • For external applications, apply on a falling temperature to prevent pin-holing from rising air.
  • All membrane applications must be applied within a 36–48 hour window after priming.

What surfaces can Sikalastic®-100 EP Primer be applied to?

Sikalastic®-100 EP Primer is designed for use on concrete substrates, cement screeds, and epoxy screeds. It can also be used as a patching compound or mortar when blended with silica sand. The substrate must be clean, structurally sound, and have a maximum moisture content of 4%.

Which Sikalastic® membranes is this primer compatible with?

Sikalastic®-100 EP Primer is the recommended primer for Sikalastic® 487, 488, 777, and 888 membrane systems. It provides the adhesion foundation needed for these membranes to perform at their best. All compatible membranes are available at Epoxy Warehouse

How long do I need to wait before applying the membrane over the primer?

At 20°C, you can overcoat the primer after 8 hours. At 10°C, allow at least 15 hours. All membrane applications should be completed within a maximum 36–48 hour window after priming, depending on temperature and UV exposure. Exceeding this window may require re-priming

Is Sikalastic®-100 EP Primer safe for use in water tanks or drinking water contact areas?

Yes. Sikalastic®-100 EP Primer holds AS4020:2018 approval, certifying it for use in contact with potable (drinking) water. This makes it suitable for water tanks, reservoirs, and other water-retaining structures where water safety is a priority
