EPIREZ Ultra High Build Epoxy Coating 733 is a solvent-free, high-performance epoxy coating designed to protect and repair concrete and steel exposed to flow wear, chemicals and demanding service conditions.
The coating is designed for infrastructure assets, splash zone areas and industrial environments where a high-build protective system is required. It can be applied in a single spray application at 3 mm DFT or greater, helping reduce application time and labour requirements compared with multiple thinner coating applications.
Ultra High Build Epoxy Coating 733 can cure underwater and withstand early immersion, making it suitable for maintenance work on splash zone piling. It can be applied at low tide and continue curing under immersed conditions to provide ongoing protection to wharf piling.

Ultra High-Build Application
EPIREZ® Ultra High Build Epoxy Coating 733 is designed to achieve a dry film thickness of 3 mm or greater using appropriate spray equipment and wet-on-wet passes.
For large projects, plural component airless spray equipment is recommended. The product is not ideal for conventional spray, brush or roller application.
A single application at this thickness is designed to minimise application time and labour requirements.

Surface Preparation
Proper surface preparation is important before applying Ultra High Build Epoxy Coating 733.
Concrete
- Remove previous coatings and all loose material.
- New concrete must be at least 28 days old.
- Remove oil and grease using a suitable surface degreaser.
- Hose off using high-pressure water.
- Use high-pressure water, abrasive blasting or a similar method to expose firmly adhered aggregate.
- Allow the surface to dry before application.
Alternatively, concrete can be acid etched using 1 part commercial muriatic acid to 2 parts clean water. Neutralise the surface by washing with fresh water and allow it to dry.
Steel
Steel should be abrasive blast cleaned to AS 1627 Part 4:2005 to a Class 3 white-metal finish with a minimum profile height of 75–100 microns.
Mixing Instructions
The mixing ratio is 1 part Hardener to 3 parts Compound.
- Use full units where practical because the components are pre-measured.
- Measure enough material for approximately 30 minutes of use.
- Mix thoroughly using a low-speed power mixer at approximately 400 rpm.
- Ensure material from the sides, container lip and stirrer is fully incorporated.
- Avoid air entrapment during mixing.
- Keep the mixer propeller below the liquid line.
For large projects, plural component airless spray equipment is the preferred application method.
Application Conditions
- Application temperature: 10°C to 30°C
- Minimum application temperature: 10°C
- Maximum relative humidity: 85%
- Maximum relative humidity in confined spaces: 50%
- The surface must be at least 3°C above the dew point.
Applying epoxy below 21°C lengthens functional cure and pot life times. Applying above 21°C shortens them.
Drying and Cure Times
- Pot life at 25°C: 30 minutes
- Tack-free time at 25°C: 6 hours
- Hardening time at 25°C: 24 hours
- Full chemical resistance: 7 days at 25°C
For optimum chemical resistance, allow the coating to cure for 7 days at 25°C before chemical exposure.

EPIREZ® Ultra High Build Epoxy Coating 733 has been independently tested and meets the stated product performance requirements for:
- AS/NZS 4020:2018 for use in contact with potable water.
- Sydney Water SPEC 204 for rehabilitation and corrosion protection of sewers using epoxy coating.
- WSAA WSA201:2021 v2.3, Manual for Selection and Application of Protective Coatings, C8 – Ultra High Build Epoxy / Polyurethane Mortar.
The coating also complies with the stated requirements for cathodic disbondment according to AS 3750.2 / AS 4352:2005.
Important Product Limitations
- Do not apply below 10°C.
- Do not apply when relative humidity exceeds 85%.
- In confined spaces, relative humidity should remain below 50%.
- The surface must be at least 3°C above the dew point.
- The product is not ideal for conventional spray, brush or roller application.
- Allow 7 days of cure at 25°C for optimum chemical resistance.
- Longer curing times are required at lower temperatures.
