EPIREZ Instant Grout Rapid Strength Cement-Based Grout

EPIREZ Instant Grout is a fast-setting, cement-based, non-metallic, non-shrink grout designed for precision grouting where rapid strength gain is required. It is supplied as a ready-to-use dry powder that only requires the addition of water.

The high-performance grout provides a flowable consistency, high effective bearing area and chemical resistance superior to concrete. It is suitable for large heavy operating equipment, precision grouting in cold conditions, rapid anchoring and fast patching.

EPIREZ Instant Grout develops strength rapidly, with compressive strength reaching 20.7 MPa at 2 hours, 30.2 MPa at 4 hours and 41 MPa at 24 hours. Large, heavy operating equipment can be started up after 4 hours, subject to site conditions.

Mixing

Measure 1.8–2.1 litres of water per 15kg pail, depending on the required consistency. Slowly add EPIREZ Instant Grout to the water and mix thoroughly using a high-shear mechanical mixer at approximately 400–500 rpm.

Mix for 2 minutes after all powder has been added. Do not exceed 2.10 litres of water per 15kg pail.

Application

EPIREZ Instant Grout must be placed within 10 minutes of mixing. It can be mixed to a dry-pack, plastic or flowable consistency and may be dry packed, trowelled, flowed or vibrated into place.

The grout can be placed up to 75mm and may be placed using mechanical devices such as plungers, rods or vibrators to assist placement.

Surface Preparation

All surfaces should be free from oil, grease, laitance and loose material. Defective or weak concrete should be cleaned back to a sound base. Bolt holes and fixing pockets should be blown clean of dirt and debris.

At least 2 hours before grouting, flood the prepared foundation with fresh water for pre-soaking. Immediately before grouting, remove all standing water and inspect bolt holes and pockets to ensure water has been removed.

Formwork

Formwork should be placed around the baseplate to assist quick and easy grout placement. It should extend above the underside of the baseplate and be securely fixed and watertight. Treat formwork with a suitable concrete release agent.
