EPIREZ Easifloor Binder II Trowelable Flooring System
EPIREZ Easifloor Binder II is a solventless, high-build epoxy binder designed for creating durable trowelable flooring systems. When combined with EPIREZ Patching & Flooring Mortar Aggregate (QA2) and a selected EPIREZ Colourpack, it produces a high-build floor finish with excellent chemical and abrasion resistance.
The Easifloor Binder II system bonds to concrete, steel, aluminium, timber and other suitable surfaces and is designed for areas exposed to heavy traffic, mechanical wear and chemical attack. Its high-build formulation can help restore damaged or uneven floors while providing an easy-clean, anti-slip surface.
It is suitable for demanding environments including vehicle workshops, warehouses, plant rooms, abattoirs, food industries, refineries, pulp mills, sugar refineries, laundries, loading ramps and water tanks. The cured system is resistant to steel-wheeled vehicle traffic and provides excellent resistance to abrasion and a range of dilute acids and alkalis.
EPIREZ Easifloor Binder II is supplied as a two-part Compound and Hardener system. To complete the flooring system, EPIREZ Patching & Flooring Mortar Aggregate (QA2) and EPIREZ Colourpack must also be added.
Coverage
A 4L Easifloor Binder II kit combined with 16L of QA2 aggregate and Colourpack produces approximately 4m² at 4mm thickness.
For increased skid resistance, QA2 aggregate can be lightly broadcast onto the freshly trowelled surface. A topcoat of Easifloor Binder II or Supatuff Heavy Duty Epoxy Coating is recommended for increased durability of the non-skid surface.
Surface Preparation
Concrete should be at least 28 days old. Ensure the surface is clean, dry and free of additives, curing agents, oils, etc.
Prepare these subfloors by acid etching and washing or captive blast cleaning as applicable to expose firmly adhered aggregate. Allow to dry if wet.
Surface preparation guidelines cannot cover all site or field contingencies and it is always recommended to perform an on-the-spot adhesion test as a Quality Assurance audit if doubt exists over the process.
Priming
Prime concrete surfaces using EPIREZ® Epoxy Primer/Sealer (123) at a coverage rate of 7.5m²/litre using spray or roller. Primer should be “touch-dry” before proceeding.
Easifloor Binder II system should be applied within 24 hours of priming. If this time is exceeded, the subfloor must be reprimed. Keep primed surfaces clean.
Mixing Instructions
Prior to mixing, the subfloor area should be reviewed so that a fixed volume of mixed material can be applied over a fixed area to ensure correct application rate.
Use a slow-speed 400 rpm mechanical mixer to ensure thorough mixing.
Add contents of Colourpack to complete Easifloor Binder II Compound. When properly dispersed, add complete Easifloor Binder II Hardener and mix until uniform.
Transfer contents to a suitable mixing pail and add complete EPIREZ Patching & Flooring Mortar Aggregate (QA2) slowly, while mixing, until a uniform consistency is obtained.
Application Instructions
Pour out the mixed composite onto the known subfloor area and apply by trowel.
Wipe the trowel occasionally, but sparingly, with EPIREZ Epoxy Thinner (No.3) to assist final trowelling.
If a higher level of skid resistance is required, EPIREZ® Patching & Flooring Mortar Aggregate (QA2) should be lightly broadcast onto the fresh surface immediately after trowelling.
Top coating with mixed Easifloor™ Binder II or Supatuff Heavy Duty Epoxy Coating (HD) is always recommended for increased durability of the non-skid surface.
