Coverage and Kit Sizes

Product Pack Size Estimating Coverage
EpiMax 777 Interprime Clear Prime Coat System 14 litres Approximately 140 m² per coat
EpiMax 777UHD Clear Seal Coat System 9 litres Approximately 90 m² per coat
EpiMax 777UHD Clear Seal Coat System 18 litres Approximately 180 m² per coat

The typical application rate for EpiMax 777UHD is 10–12 m² per litre per coat.

Application of EpiMax 777UHD Clear High Performance Seal Coat System

  1. Ensure the prepared surface is clean, dry and free from contamination.
  2. Review the sub-floor area and calculate the required volume of mixed material for the area.
  3. Use a slow-speed mechanical mixer at approximately 400 rpm.
  4. Add Part B to Part A.
  5. Mix for a minimum of 3 minutes.
  6. Apply evenly at 10–12 m² per litre.
  7. Apply by roller or airless spray.

When a matt finish is required, the first coat should be gloss. When using the matt finish, premix Part A thoroughly to ensure the matting agent is evenly dispersed and help avoid variations in the finish.

Up to 20% potable water can be used to adjust the viscosity of the first coat as required.

Allow the coating to cure for 7 days before subjecting it to full exposure.

Mixing Instructions

  1. Use a slow-speed mechanical mixer at approximately 400 rpm.
  2. Add EpiMax 777UHD Part B to EpiMax 777UHD Part A.
  3. Mix for a minimum of 3 minutes.
  4. For the first coat, use up to 20% potable water as required to adjust viscosity.
  5. When using the matt finish, thoroughly premix Part A to evenly disperse the matting agent.

The hardening mechanism occurs in two stages. First, the contained water evaporates, followed by chemical hardening. Good airflow assists the water evaporation stage.

The work time may be difficult to determine visually, so always keep track of the actual mixing and application time. Discard unused material when the 60-minute work time at 25°C has been exceeded.

Concrete Surface Preparation

  • Concrete should be at least 28 days old.
  • Ensure the concrete is clean and dry.
  • Remove additives, curing agents, oils and other contamination.
  • Prepare the surface as necessary by professional diamond grinding.
  • Ensure the surface profile exceeds CSP 2.
  • Allow wet surfaces to dry before application.
  • Always confirm that surface preparation is adequate.

Ground Concrete Applications

Ground concrete should be prepared using diamond-segmented abrasives to achieve the required degree of grind and smoothness.

EpiMax 777UHD should be used on concrete surfaces with a finish below the 120 grit metal-bonded diamond level. Film-forming coatings require a degree of surface profile and penetration to adequately bond to the concrete surface.

For ground concrete applications:

  1. Prepare the concrete surface to the required profile.
  2. Allow the surface to dry if wet.
  3. Consider the site's slip resistance requirements.
  4. Prime using EpiMax 777 Interprime or EpiMax 777UHD Gloss diluted with 20% potable water.
  5. Alternatively, use EpiMax 999WB as the prime coat.
  6. When a matt finish is required, the first coat should be EpiMax 777 Interprime or EpiMax 777UHD Gloss.
  7. Apply the second coat of EpiMax 777UHD at 10–12 m² per litre.
  8. A third coat can be applied at 10–12 m² per litre to provide extended durability.

Over-Coating Existing EpiMax Coatings

When applying EpiMax 777UHD over previously applied EpiMax coatings, ensure the existing coating is clean, dry and free from contamination and less than two days old.

Apply EpiMax 777UHD Clear in two coats at approximately 10 m² per litre.

Slip Resistance

Slip resistance can be enhanced by incorporating suitable non-slip media into the first or second coat.

EpiMax 777UHD can meet HB198 P3 with suitable media as stated in the technical information.

Drying and Cure Times

  • Work time: 60 minutes at 25°C.
  • Recoat window: 6–48 hours under standard conditions.
  • Full cure: 7 days.

Allow the coating to cure for 7 days before subjecting it to full exposure.

Application Conditions

  • Internal applications only.
  • Apply in well-ventilated areas.
  • Avoid application when relative humidity is above 80%.
  • Avoid application when temperature is below 12°C.
  • Good airflow assists the water evaporation stage of curing.
  • Higher temperatures and increased airflow decrease wet edge times.
