They feature sharp steel spikes on the soles that allow you to safely walk over freshly applied, wet epoxy without leaving footprints or removing the coating. This allows you to walk back onto the wet floor to back-roll the surface, fix imperfections, or evenly broadcast decorative flakes and anti-slip media.

No, we highly advise against using standard household paint rollers. Standard rollers tend to shed fibers and lint, which will get permanently trapped in your curing epoxy and ruin the smooth finish. You must use specialized, lint-free industrial rollers. We supply trade-quality rollers—such as the UNi-PRO Microfibre 10mm nap or 11mm nap roller —which are specifically designed to hold high-solids epoxy and polyurethane without shedding or breaking down under harsh solvents.

A notched squeegee (like our Purple Magic Squeegee) is one of the biggest time-saving tools for applying floor coatings. Instead of trying to roll the epoxy out of a paint tray, you pour a ribbon of mixed epoxy directly onto the floor and use the squeegee to rapidly pull and spread the product across the slab. The notches ensure the epoxy is spread at an exact, uniform thickness. Once spread, you simply back-roll it with a roller to even out the texture.

A spiked roller (such as our 11mm Spike Roller) is a specialized tool used primarily for high-build, thick coatings and polyurethane systems (like metallic epoxies or thick basecoats). Rolling this tool over the wet coating helps aggressively release trapped air bubbles (outgassing) that rise from the concrete, ensuring a perfectly smooth, glass-like finish without pinholes.
