Description

EpiMax 920 Solvent Based PU Hybrid Sealer is a two pack fully cross-linking, non-yellowing protective finish for concrete floors. In particular, the system is suitable for floors in high-traffic areas and to provide good resistance to scuffs and staining. It also enhances the beauty of decorative concrete.

Floors protected with EpiMax 920 show reduced staining from materials such as oil, grease, food spills and many chemicals by producing a low maintenance, abrasion resistant, protective film that also exhibits good chemical resistance.

Since this product is solvent based as supplied, suitable precautions must be undertaken during the application process.

• Vehicle traffic: minimum 72 hours at 25ºC
• Full solvent resistance: 7 days at 25ºC

General surface preparation
Concrete should be at least 28 days old. Ensure it is clean, dry and free of additives, curing agents, oils, etc. Prepare as necessary by professional diamond grinding or captive blast cleaning as applicable to expose firmly held aggregate. Allow to dry if wet. Always confirm preparation adequacy. Surface profile should exceed CSP 2.

General application comments
Review the sub-floor area in advance so that a fixed volume of mixed material can be applied over a fixed area to ensure correct application rate. Select a slow speed (400 rpm) mechanical mixer and ensure thorough mixing.

Mix ratio
3 Part A to 1 Part B by volume. Mix until uniform. Apply with a short nap roller at an application rate of 4 – 6 m2 per litre on unsealed surfaces. Apply in two coats observing the re-coat window. Non-slip finishes can be achieved by suitable incorporation of EpiMax Aggregates.

Over-coating applications
If sealing freshly applied epoxy coatings, apply within re-coat window. If sealing old epoxy coatings, sand first and confirm adhesion in a test area.
