Usage

Alka Seal serves as a budget-friendly sealer, ideal for:

• Warehouses and storage facilities
• Car parks and garages
• Light industrial buildings
• Exterior pavements
• Patios
• Driveways

Application:

Layer Thickness: Theoretical DFT per coat 30 – 45 Microns

Curing Time: Tack-free in 1 to 2 hours

Waiting Time for Over coating: Re-coat time – 2 to 4 hours

Consumption:

• Approximately 5-10 sqm per Litre for open or textured surfaces.
• Approximately 10-15 sqm per Litre for sealed or more closed surfaces.
• Typically, 2 to 3 coats are applied.

Application Instructions:

You can apply Alka Seal using spray or roller. To achieve optimal results, start by applying the first coat, and potentially the second, at falling temperatures. This helps prevent bubbling caused by trapped air in the substrate and enhances penetration. Moreover, premature exposure to moisture may lead to whitening or clouding of the finished product.

Therefore, it’s advisable to conduct a trial in a small area before proceeding with full application. Ensure even application and refrain from applying excess product on the surface. This is crucial as imperfections might become visible through the thin coating.

Cleaning of Equipment:

Clean immediately using solvent. Hardened product can only be removed mechanically.
