Epoxy Floor Coating Application Accessories Include the Following: 

• One Epoxy Application Twin Roller/ Brush Kit SIC has partnered with Unipro to create an epoxy application kit. The kit includes two rollers, two brushes, one tray, one heavy-duty frame, and two roller liners. This allows you to apply two coats of epoxy to your floor without having to worry about the required tools. (Painting Extension Pole is not included in the kit and it can be purchased from Bunnings or local hardware stores)
• One additional 270mm Epoxy Roller Cover
• One Pair of Sydney Industrial Coatings Spike Shoes, Spike shoes lets you walk on wet epoxy and fix any missed spots. You can also remove any foreign objects and back-roll the epoxy product to get better results.
• One UNIPRO large mixer epoxy flooring products come in two parts. Part A should be mixed first, and then poured into a measuring bucket. Add the appropriate amount of Part B to your Part A, and then mix it by attaching the supplied paddle to a cordless or corded drill (Drill is not included in the kit)
• One roll of Tesa, 48mm cloth masking tape The Tesa cloth masking tape is used to cover areas that you don’t want epoxy to get on. This will help you get a straight line and a better finish. Do not use masking tape on the skirting boards because there is a chance that the epoxy will bleed through and leave an uneven finish.
• One pair of work gloves to protect your hands while working with epoxy products

How to apply your Sikafloor DecoDur ES-26 Flake epoxy system

Preparation is the most important stage of applying any successful industrial coating system! 

• The recommended preparation method prior to applying an epoxy coating system is diamond grinding; The purpose is to remove the existing coating, as well as the top layer of concrete, to allow the epoxy primer to penetrate deep into the subfloor and seal any pores
• Patch and fill any cracks using Sikadur 31 CF Normal
• Depending on your application type, apply 1x coat of Sikafloor 264 as a primer coat using a 12mm nap roller and allow to cure (a tinted primer coat will help ensure your base coat colour is uniform, especially when working with a black or vibrant base). NOTE: If your concrete has moisture within the surface, ensure you us a moisture barrier primer.
• Return next day to apply 1x base coat of Sikafloor 264, broadcast flake over the wet film and allow to cure for 16- 18 hours (if recoat window exceeds 36 hrs, the floor will need to be sanded before next coat)
• Return to clean excess flake and vacuum any loose flake particles
• Apply 1x squeegee coat or 2x roller applied coats of Sikafloor 169
• Antislip media such as aluminum oxide can be added to the topcoat to achieve a higher slip rating
• Your floor will be trafficable after 24 hours and heavy items such as cars, boats or trailers shouldn’t be parked on the floor for 7 days after application of the final coat.

All products must be applied in accordance with the manufacturer’s recommended method. Ensure you read all product, technical and safety data sheets prior to application as liability falls on the applicator.
